About Voice Lessons
Voice lessons are an hour long and are tailored to the needs of each student. Typically you warm up, work on vocal technique through scales and other exercises, and then work on repertoire. Ed Roberts, the accompanist and vocal coach, plays for all lessons. Students have access to an extensive music library including, but not limited to, operatic, music theater, and classical song repertoire. Muriel and Ed have decades of experience with musical theatre, classical music, opera, religious music, choral songs, and more and help pick songs that will help you improve, no matter what your goals are. Most students learn songs in English, Italian, French, and German and learn the correct pronunciations of each of those languages and learn to sing in the different styles of those languages.
Students range come in all ages, shapes, and sizes. Muriel typically only teaches younger students once they have reached puberty, because of the way puberty changes the singing voice.
